Episode 11: Hardmoors Series Race Director/ Jon Steele

Episode 11 features an interview with Hardmoors Series Race Director Jon Steele. James and Dan chat to Jon about some of his incredible feats of endurance as a runner including his 52 ultras in 52 weeks back in 2012, before getting the past, present and future plans for the incredibly popular Hardmoors events that Jon organises on the North York Moors and surrounds. The chat then focuses in on this years Hardmoors 55, the awful conditions that engulfed the race late on and how Jon handled it at the time and with the intense press focus in the days that followed.

Episode 10: Hong Kong 100km/ Sarah Morwood

In this episode Dan and James start off by discussing Rocky Raccoon 100 and James’ race there, before getting in to the subject of cheating in ultra running after the third placed finisher at that event was Disqualified. The recent Arc of Attrition 100 is also covered before the main event, an interview with the remarkable Sarah Morwood who after representing GB and winning events of all distances over 2013-2015, suffered a near career ending injury in 2016. Since then Sarah has fought her way back to beyond her previous best and recently returned from 6th place finish at the Hong Kong 100km. Sarah tell’s us about her start in the sport, the accident, how she’s come back since then and what she does now to ensure she stays where she is – back at the top!

Episode 9: 2017 Runners of the Year/ Katie Kaars Sijpesteijn

The second episode of 2018 features an interview with one of James and Dans picks for British Ultrarunner of the Year – Katie Kaars Sijpesteijn. Katie had an unbelieavbly prolific 2017, racing often and to the highest possible level with multiple wins at classic British events as well as top performances internationally. She talks about her background, her highlights of the year and what lies ahead. There’s also some advice for runners looking to get in to Sky Running events as well as a discussion on what can be done to increase involvement of women in ultrarunning in general.

Episode 8: 2017 Runners of the Year/ Tom Evans

The first episode of 2018 sees Dan and James recap the end of 2017 and features an interview with one of their two picks for British Ultrarunner of the Year – Tom Evans. After a break out year of 3rd – MDS, 4th Eiger 101, 4th CCC, Tom tells us all about his background, his stellar year and what lies ahead.
